Here are frequent asked questions about DSP! If you have a question that you do not see answered below, feel free to enter one in the ask box on the bottom left of your screen that will be answered as soon as possible!

“How do I best prepare for the interview?”

Make sure to make updates to your resume from the resume review from the formal open house. As well as bringing about 10 copies of your resume to the interviews! Have an elevator pitch ready as well (if you are not sure what an elevator pitch is, google is your best friend). And the most important factor, be yourself! It is super important to show your personality and interests, thats what make you, you!

“Should I be nervous for my interview?”

It is perfectly normal to be nervous before any interview! You should not be anxious, we have all been in your position before so remember that you are not alone. Find ways to help combat your anxiety like having a mock interview with some friends or practicing your elevator pitch! You got this!

“What sets DSP apart from other Pitt business organizations?”

DSP has an amazing alumni network and connections that are incomparable to other business organizations on campus. Along with having an amazing brotherhood connection. Any brother is willing to help each other out in the classroom and outside the classroom, no matter how well they know each other. Since DSP is the only business fraternity that requires you to either be in the business school or an economics major, it really does allow you to be involved with liked minded individuals. College is all about meeting new people with different interests, but DSP allows you to have the home away from home by being surrounded by people just like you!

“What requirements do I need to join DSP?”

You have to be in the business school or an economics major! Along with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA unless you are a first semester freshman!

“How do current brothers balance academics and the fraternity?”

When it comes to DSP and academics, it is very manageable. If anything, DSP is a helpful addition to your academic career because there are always brothers in your classes to help you out. Along with brothers who have previously taken those courses who can give helpful insight!

“What the best way I can give back to the fraternity?”

There are many ways to give back to the fraternity! For one, just be involved! That is one of the best ways to give back. Along with running for a leadership positions! It allows you to gain amazing experience along with leaving your personal touch on the fraternity!

“What kind of professional development opportunities do people get from being in DSP?”

There is an extensive amount of professional development and gain from being in DSP. You are able to attend professional events with exceptional companies and learn about the many job and internship opportunities these companies offer. You are taught how to be interviewed along with improving you resumes and Linkedins!

“Can this organization help me get an internship?”

Yes! Many of our brothers obtain internships their sophomore and junior year! But it differs for everyone! Companies such as KPMG, EY, ULINE, DELOITTE and so many more!
