Back on October 23rd, Pitt Football looked to start their dominance in ACC Conference play when they hosted the struggling Clemson Tigers at Heinz Field. Despite a disappointing loss to Western Michigan a few games prior, Pitt came into the ball game looking to start in the win column. With the leadership and Kenny “Heisman” Pickett and star-studded wide receiver, Jordan Addison, the Panthers were eager to continue their dominance on offense and secure a win on Saturday afternoon.
Going into the semester, our chapter wanted to host an event for our recently graduated brothers from the past few semesters. Being the Alumni Relations Chair, myself and other executive committee members decided to coordinate an Alumni Tailgate for when Clemson visited Pitt on October 23rd. In the weeks leading up towards the tailgate, we reached out to local brothers that would be interested in attending. Food and drinks were gathered by our brothers as well.
Leading up to gametime, the atmosphere in the North-Shore was nothing but electric. The tailgate lots that surrounded Heinz Field and PNC Park were packed with Pitt and Clemson fans alike. There was a great turnout of existing brothers and alumni. With the hours leading up towards gametime, our brothers and alumni connected back with one another. Due to COVID-19 shifting the fall and spring semesters virtual last year, it was amazing to see old, familiar faces in person! All in all, I believe our DSP chapter had an amazing time with our alumni at the tailgate.
