This past week, DSP-Lambda hosted a week of recruitment events to form our 2024 Fall Rush Class. We hosted multiple Meet the Brothers, where potential members could meet active brothers in our chapter and learn more about them and the fraternity. Furthermore, we hosted a community service event with Letters of Love, where both brothers and potential members came together to make cards for residents of the local hospitals.

An important event we host every rush week is the Professional Event, where a speaker comes and develops the professional skills of potential members and existing fraternity brothers. This semester, we hosted Michelle Reese, an HR professional from the DRAW Collective. She gave prospective members valuable information about how to prepare and conduct themselves during an interview, prepping them for their own that following Sunday. Following the event, we conducted a round of speed dating so brothers could rapidly connect with potential members through both personal and professional questions.

The other half of the week, we had a community service event partnered with the Letter of Love at Pitt organization where brothers and potential new members wrote letters in support of children in the hospital. We had another phenomenal attendance at our second Meet The Brothers where all students thinking of rushing Delta Sigma Pi could further their connection with the brothers they already met and meet any they still hadn’t met yet.

To wrap up the week before interviews, we had our highly anticipated Formal Open House. This is a special event where everyone in the room is dressed in business professional attire and get to hear from a panel of Delta Sigma Pi alumni about their personal experiences with the fraternity, where they ended up after graduation, and any tips they have for interviews. Each student interested in rushing gets to have their résumé reviewed by multiple brothers who have gained so much professional experience so far. This recruitment week was a massive success as we had 72 applicants and were able to walk away with a brand new and exciting pledge class of 26. Keep a look out on our social medias to meet the Fall ‘24 class!
